From being overlooked to turning heads—Shadley’s @shadleyvs journey continues to inspire! 🏏 💫

Despite never previously making it to provincial or state-level teams (let alone national), he managed to try out at the U19 level and even make it to the South African national U19s. When the legendary Coach Ray Jennings first saw Shadley there he famously asked, ‘Who’s that kid? I’ve never seen him at any camp!’ 🙌

Through faith, perseverance, and a touch of divine blessing, Shadley broke through the backdoor to realize his dream of becoming a professional cricketer. 🔥 ✨

A true reminder that the path to success isn’t always conventional and the doors are always open.

Umar Akmal @u_akmal was in peak form for the San Diego Surf Riders @sd.surfriders during their back-to-back games against the Seattle Thunderbolts @seattlethunderbolts on Friday, Sept 20.

The Pakistan international played with purpose, smashing a rapid 40 off just 26 balls in the first match—the highest individual score of the game. He struck 2 fours and 4 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 153.85.

In the second game, Akmal picked up right where he left off, dismantling Seattle’s bowling attack with a blistering 42 off 23 deliveries. This time, he hit 4 fours and 3 sixes, raising his strike rate to a remarkable 182.61.

This stellar form is exciting to see! It’s always great to have Umar back in the US.
